PEOPLE AMONG PEOPLE, Leonid Bergoltsev - Photographer, is a collection of 174 photographs of Leonid Bergoltsev. The photographs are titled and the photographer has provided unique descriptions of many of the instants he captured. some of the "people" among people are well known: Van Cliburn performing in the former Soviet Union; a pensive John Steinbeck; Mikhail Gorbachov; Yevgeniy Yevtushenko; Lev Landau; Boris Yeltsyn; various cosmonauts; Marshal Busyonniy; Averell Harriman, Harrison Salisbury; Marian Anderson; King Mohamed Zahir Shakh of Afganistan; Simone Signoret; Pope John-Paul; to mname a few of those in the book. Many other of the "people" are men, women and children from around the world. These photographs, unique in perspective and mood, have evoked strong emotional responses from nearly everyone who has previewed the work. More on the book ......
A special interest is in the preservation of historical documents in digital form. Examples include: a collection of photographes by Reuben Greene; photographs from the Moretown, Vermont Historical Society; and family records.
Ed Schwartzreich is a writer for Viewfinder, the Journal of the Leica Historical Society of America, and also the bibliographer of Dr. Paul Wolff. The bibliography and various other of Ed's writings are accessed from his own page.

WE TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR YOU.

You will see some of our photographs on this web site. Contact us if you have a special photographic project. Some specialties are: events; places; and large documents too large for most scanners.

WE ALSO CAN CHANGE, CORRECT, OR REPAIR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS

You may be a better than average photographer. Part of your talent is the ability to recognize flaws in an image. The lighting may not have been ideal. There may have been an unavoidable telephone pole protruding from some one's head. The elbow of a stranger may have intruded on the scene. There may have been a flaw in the photographer's technique or poor image processing. Retake the photo, if you can, or consider having ImageRe: Digital Works provide digital correction or alteration. Digital imaging gives the photographer a second chance.

ImageRe: Digital Works, as the name suggests, works with digital images. If your images are not digital, we provide color scanning of prints, negatives and slides. You receive a copy of the image in the digital format needed and we produce or arrange for production of copies in the printed format desired.

THE CHANGING STORY - The photograph captures a moment in time, but times do change. It is quite common for folks to have a cherished family photo that contains a relative or (former) friend who is no longer considered part of the group. It is often laughed about, and some would never consider it, but it is possible to ADD OR REMOVE people, animals, and things from images. On the right is an example of blatant manipulation. These two people didn't know each other until they were adults. This is a composite photo showing how it might have been if they had know each other when they were kids.

THE EMBELLISHED IMAGE -You might want to embellish an image. As an example, a photo of a home, shown on the left, was used on a holiday card. The original image was cropped and the color corrected - then the lights in the window were added to give the view a more festive look.
